Tsuchida Shikaiin is a dental clinic tucked into the ground floor of the Sfida Nakano building in Minami-dai, Nakano. It’s a neighborhood practice — not a big city English-friendly chain — so walk in expecting a typical Japanese dental experience rather than a bilingual one. The clinic does have some English content on its website, which suggests at least some awareness of non-Japanese patients, but whether that translates to smooth chair-side communication is genuinely unclear. If your Japanese is limited, bring a translation app or a Japanese-speaking friend for anything beyond pointing at a tooth. For straightforward dental work — cleaning, cavity, checkup — the language barrier is usually manageable. For anything involving detailed diagnosis or treatment planning, you’ll want a backup plan. Nakano is a real neighborhood with real prices, so you’re unlikely to get hit with the premium fees of more tourist-facing clinics in Shinjuku or Shibuya.
