Kantan Health is a free, English-language directory of clinics and hospitals in Japan that can help patients in English. It is for people who live in Japan or are visiting and would rather see a doctor they can talk to in English. “Kantan” (簡単) means “simple” in Japanese, and that is the goal: make finding English-friendly medical care in Japan simpler.

How the listings are put together
Listings start from public information, such as the medical facility data published by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, map listings, and clinics’ own websites. We look for signs that a clinic can help patients in English, for example an English website, English-speaking doctors or staff, or English forms. Clinic descriptions and summaries are drafted with the help of AI tools from that information.
Clinics change their hours, staff and services, and language support often depends on which doctor is working that day. Some details in a listing may be out of date or wrong. Always check with the clinic before you go, and read our medical disclaimer.

Kantan Health is not a clinic, a medical service or an insurance provider. We do not give medical advice, book appointments, or provide interpreters. In an emergency in Japan, call 119 for an ambulance or fire, or 110 for the police.
How the site is paid for
