SUZUKI Clinic
SUZUKI Clinic is a neighborhood internal medicine clinic in Minamisuna, Koto Ward — a residential part of east Tokyo that doesn’t see many expats but is home to plenty of long-term foreign residents. The clinic operates under the medical corporation Shokōkai and handles the everyday stuff: checkups, chronic disease management, colds, referrals.
The website has some English-facing content, which is a decent sign, but don’t assume you’ll walk in and have a smooth English conversation. This is a Japanese-style local clinic. The doctor likely has some reading-level English at minimum, but fluent back-and-forth medical consultations in English aren’t guaranteed. Bring a translation app, or better yet, a Japanese-speaking friend if your condition is complicated.
That said, for straightforward visits — blood pressure checks, prescription renewals, general malaise — this kind of clinic is often faster and less chaotic than a big hospital. It’s local, it’s practical, and it covers the basics.
Patient Feedback
Patient feedback on SUZUKI Clinic is limited online in English, so take this with appropriate skepticism. As a small neighborhood clinic, expect shorter wait times than a major hospital, a more personal feel, and a doctor who knows their regular patients. The tradeoff is fewer resources and likely less English comfort than a university hospital. Visits are probably efficient for straightforward issues. No reports of strong English support from reception.
