Somenomachi Shinryosho

Somenomachi Shinryosho is a small orthopedic clinic tucked into a residential building in Hongo, one of Tokyo’s quieter academic neighborhoods in Bunkyo. It handles the usual orthopedic workload — joint pain, back issues, sports injuries, post-injury rehab. The clinic has some English content on its website, which is a decent sign, but that doesn’t automatically mean you’ll walk in and have a smooth English conversation at the front desk. This is a neighborhood clinic, not an international hospital. If your Japanese is minimal, bring a translation app or a bilingual friend. That said, Bunkyo has a significant international student and researcher population thanks to the University of Tokyo nearby, so the staff here may have more experience with non-Japanese patients than your average local clinic.
