This is a public health center run by the Kokubunji City Medical Association, sitting on the second floor of the Izumi Plaza building in Kokubunji’s Izumi neighborhood. It’s an internal medicine facility with a public health focus — think checkups, health consultations, and managing chronic conditions rather than urgent care walk-ins.

The English situation is workable. Staff have conversational English, so you won’t be completely on your own pointing at a dictionary app the whole visit. That said, this is still a Japanese public health institution, so expect most paperwork and signage to be in Japanese. Come prepared with your medical history written down in simple English or Japanese if you can manage it.

The Izumi Plaza location is a bit off the main drag — Kokubunji Station is on the JR Chuo Line, so it’s accessible from central Tokyo, but factor in a walk or short bus ride from the station. Good for residents of Kokubunji and the surrounding west Tokyo area looking for a reliable, no-frills internal medicine base.
