Okudo Kodomo Clinic
Okudo Kodomo Clinic is a pediatric practice sitting on the second floor of a drug store (Drug Papas) in Katsushika — a residential, east Tokyo ward that doesn’t see many foreign faces. This is a Japanese neighborhood clinic doing Japanese neighborhood clinic things: kids’ checkups, vaccinations, common illnesses, developmental consultations.
The website has some English-language elements, which is a better sign than nothing, but don’t book expecting a bilingual reception desk. This is almost certainly a Japanese-primary environment. If your kid is sick and you’re in the area, it’s worth trying — bring a translation app, have your child’s medical history written out in Japanese if possible, and keep expectations realistic. The drug store downstairs is actually a nice bonus if you need to fill a prescription immediately after.
Not a clinic built for expats. A clinic that’s convenient if you live nearby and need pediatric care without crossing the city.
Patient Feedback
Patient feedback points to a straightforward neighborhood pediatric clinic — thorough enough for routine visits, vaccinations, and common childhood illnesses. Locals mention reasonable wait times for the area and a doctor who takes time to explain things. The atmosphere is calm and child-friendly without being flashy. Nothing remarkable reported in either direction. What you’d expect from a well-functioning local kids’ clinic in a quiet residential ward.
