It handles internal medicine — think chronic conditions, general checkups, referrals, and the kind of ongoing care that expats often struggle to navigate without Japanese. The hospital has conversational English capability, meaning at least some staff can get through a basic consultation without you resorting entirely to Google Translate. Don’t expect a fully bilingual experience, but you won’t be left completely stranded either. Arakawa isn’t a typical expat hub, so if you’re living in the area, finding a local hospital that can actually communicate with you in English is genuinely useful. It’s a hospital with real infrastructure — beds, multiple departments, the works — rather than a one-doctor shop.
