This is a local clinic serving local people — think family eye doctor, not a glitzy urban eye center. They handle the standard ophthalmology workload: vision checks, glaucoma screening, dry eye, cataracts, and general eye health.

The clinic has some English content on their Google Sites page, which suggests awareness that non-Japanese patients exist. But that’s different from having English-fluent staff at the desk. Don’t show up expecting a bilingual consultation. Come prepared — Google Translate on your phone, key symptoms written out in Japanese, and patience. A translation app will get you through most of it.

Nerima isn’t a typical expat hub, so if you’re living out this way, finding an eye clinic at all can be the challenge. OGINO is a legitimate option for routine eye care. Just go in with realistic expectations about language.
