Nagomi Shika iin
Nagomi Shika iin is a neighborhood dental clinic in Nishiarai, Adachi — the quieter, more residential side of Tokyo that a lot of newer expats end up in before they figure out the city. The clinic handles standard dentistry: checkups, cleanings, fillings, that kind of thing. Nothing flashy, but that’s not really what you need for a toothache at 10pm anyway.
Their website has some English content, which suggests they’ve thought about non-Japanese patients at least a little. But “website has English” and “the receptionist speaks English” are two very different things in Japan, and it’s honestly unclear which category this clinic falls into. If your Japanese is zero, bring a translation app or a Japanese-speaking friend for anything more complex than pointing at a tooth and wincing. For routine work, you can probably manage with Google Translate and patience.
Nishiarai is accessible by Tobu Isesaki Line, so getting there from central Tokyo is doable but not quick.
Patient Feedback
Patient feedback points to a calm, unhurried clinic — the name “Nagomi” literally means harmony or relaxation, and it seems to fit. People mention the doctor takes time to explain treatment rather than rushing through appointments. Wait times appear reasonable for a neighborhood practice. The vibe is local and low-key, not a polished expat-facing clinic. No frills, but no complaints about the actual dental work either.
