Miyakeshounika Suginami is a pediatric clinic tucked into the basement of Takaido Medical Building in Suginami’s Takaidohigashi neighborhood. It’s a dedicated children’s clinic — think vaccines, sick visits, developmental checkups, and the usual parade of fevers and runny noses that come with raising kids in Tokyo.

The clinic has some English content on its Google Sites page, which is a decent sign that they’re at least aware foreign patients exist. But “English content online” doesn’t always translate to smooth English communication in person. Full English service isn’t confirmed, so if your Japanese is limited, go prepared — a translation app or a bilingual friend can save a lot of stress at the front desk.

This is a neighborhood pediatrician, not a fancy international clinic. That’s actually fine for most expat families — once you get past the language barrier, local clinics like this tend to be thorough, affordable under National Health Insurance, and less crowded than big hospitals.
