MIO Clinic

MIO Clinic is a neighborhood internal medicine clinic in Katsushika, one of Tokyo’s quieter residential wards in the northeast. It’s a general-purpose adult clinic — the kind of place you go for persistent coughs, blood pressure checks, fatigue, diabetes management, or figuring out what’s actually wrong when you feel off but can’t pinpoint it.

The clinic has conversational English capability, so you’re not walking in completely blind. It won’t feel like a bilingual clinic, but basic communication should hold up. Bring your insurance card, have your symptoms written down in Japanese if you can manage it, and expect a fairly typical Japanese neighborhood clinic experience — efficient, no-frills, and genuinely focused on getting you sorted.

Katsushika isn’t the most expat-dense area, so finding English-friendly medical care here matters more than it would in Shinjuku or Minato. MIO Clinic fills that gap reasonably well for locals and expats in the eastern Tokyo area.
