Kurea Shikaiinn
Kurea Shikaiinn (クレア歯科医院) is a dental clinic sitting on the 6th floor of the Butakikaku Building in Higashi-Kasai, Edogawa. That’s deep east Tokyo — not the most expat-dense neighborhood, but if you live or work out in Edogawa, this could be your closest option for dental care without trekking into the city center.
The clinic covers standard dentistry: cleanings, fillings, extractions, the usual. Their website has some English content, which suggests they’ve at least thought about non-Japanese patients — but “some English online” doesn’t automatically mean smooth English communication at the front desk or in the chair. Come prepared with a translation app and any relevant dental history written out in Japanese if you can manage it.
This is a neighborhood clinic, not a foreigner-specialist practice. If your Japanese is minimal, you can probably get through a basic appointment, but anything complicated — treatment plans, insurance questions, specialist referrals — will take patience and probably some phone-based translation.
Patient Feedback
Patient feedback on Kurea Shikaiinn is limited online, which is pretty typical for smaller neighborhood dental clinics in outer Tokyo. The general picture is a quiet, local practice — not rushed, not a conveyor belt. Appointments seem to run on time. The dentist appears thorough and unhurried, which matters when you’re already anxious about explaining symptoms in a second language. Don’t expect a polished international-clinic experience, but basic dental work gets done competently.
