KEYAKI Eye Clinic is a neighborhood ophthalmology clinic in Higashi-Yamato, a quieter residential area in western Tokyo. It’s a local eye clinic — not a major international medical center — so manage expectations accordingly. They handle standard ophthalmology: eye exams, glasses and contact lens prescriptions, dry eye, glaucoma screening, cataracts, and general eye complaints.

Their website has some English content, which suggests awareness of non-Japanese patients, but don’t count on smooth English communication at reception or during consultations. A translation app will likely be your best friend here. That said, eye exams involve a lot of equipment-guided testing, which is less language-dependent than other specialties — pointing and nodding gets you further here than at, say, an internal medicine clinic.

The clinic is inside a building called Level Eight on the ground floor in Shimizu, Higashi-Yamato. It’s not walking distance from a major hub, so you’ll want to check bus or car access from Higashi-Yamato Station on the Seibu Haijima Line.
