Kasai Chuo Hospital is a full-service hospital in Funabori, Edogawa — one of Tokyo’s quieter residential wards that doesn’t see many expats but is home to plenty of long-term foreign residents. The internal medicine department handles the usual range: checkups, chronic disease management, referrals, that kind of thing. It’s a real hospital, not a small clinic, so expect a more institutional feel — numbered tickets, waiting rooms, the works.

English capability is genuinely unclear. The website has some English-facing content, which is a decent sign, but that doesn’t always translate to staff who can hold a medical conversation in English. If you’re not comfortable in Japanese, bring a translation app or a bilingual friend. Don’t assume you’ll be fine — but don’t rule it out either. For expats already living in Edogawa who need local, accessible internal medicine care rather than trekking to central Tokyo, this is worth knowing about.
