Kagurazaka Minamino Ganka is a small ophthalmology clinic on the second floor of the Hasegawa Building in Kagurazaka, one of Shinjuku’s more pleasant neighborhoods to navigate — cobblestone streets, easy access from Iidabashi or Kagurazaka Station. The clinic handles standard eye care: exams, glasses and contact lens prescriptions, dry eye, and general conditions.

Their website has some English content, which is a decent sign, but that doesn’t guarantee English-speaking staff at the front desk or during your appointment. Realistically, you should expect to bring a translation app or a Japanese-speaking friend if your Japanese is limited. Most routine eye exams involve enough visual cues and simple gestures that people get through fine, but anything involving detailed symptom descriptions could get tricky.
