Honda Byoin is a small internal medicine hospital in Ota Ward, tucked into a residential stretch of Higashi-Yaguchi. It’s run under the Seikokai medical corporation and handles the kind of everyday adult health needs that expats often struggle to navigate in Japan — chronic conditions, general checkups, referrals, that sort of thing.

The website has some English content, which is a decent sign, but don’t show up expecting a fully bilingual experience. Reception and doctors are almost certainly Japanese-first. That said, Ota Ward has a sizeable international population, so staff here may have more practice dealing with non-Japanese patients than clinics in less diverse areas.

It’s a hospital-level facility rather than a solo GP’s office, which means more infrastructure but also potentially more paperwork and longer waits. Bring your health insurance card, your residence card, and a translation app you trust. If you have a Japanese-speaking friend who can come along, even better.
