Hironaka Clinic

Hironaka Clinic is a small internal medicine practice sitting on the second floor of the Hulic Todoroki Building in Setagaya’s Todoroki neighborhood — a quiet, residential part of southwest Tokyo that doesn’t see a lot of expat foot traffic. They handle the usual internal medicine territory: colds, chronic conditions, checkups, fatigue, and the kind of vague-but-real symptoms that need a general workup.

Their website has some English content, which is a decent sign, but don’t walk in expecting a fully bilingual experience. It’s unclear whether reception staff can hold a real medical conversation in English. A translation app on your phone is a smart backup. That said, Setagaya has a scattered expat population, so clinics here aren’t completely unfamiliar with non-Japanese patients — they just vary a lot in how prepared they are.

Good fit if you live in the Todoroki or Futako-Tamagawa area and want a neighborhood doctor for general health issues. Less ideal if you need detailed back-and-forth explanations in English or complex ongoing care without a Japanese-speaking friend to help.
