Hirakawa

Hirakawa is a full hospital (not just a clinic) run by the Kosei-kai medical corporation, sitting out in Miyamachi, Hachioji — that’s western Tokyo, think mountains-in-the-distance territory, not Shinjuku. It covers internal medicine alongside other departments, so you’re dealing with a proper multi-department facility rather than a solo-practitioner setup. The hospital has some English content on its website, which is a decent sign, but that doesn’t guarantee English-speaking staff are waiting at reception when you walk in. Hachioji is far enough from central Tokyo that the international patient infrastructure you’d find in Minato or Shinjuku just isn’t there. If you’re living out west and need internal medicine without a long commute into the city, this is worth checking out — but call ahead, bring a Japanese-speaking friend if you can, or load up a translation app before you go.
