Hirakawa

Hirakawa Hospital is a full internal medicine facility sitting out in Miyamatamachi, one of the greener, quieter corners of Hachioji in western Tokyo. It’s a proper hospital rather than a small clinic, so you’re looking at more infrastructure — imaging, labs, multiple departments — but also more paperwork and process. The hospital has some English content on its website, which is a decent sign, but that doesn’t automatically mean the front desk or doctors can hold a full conversation in English. Hachioji is far enough from central Tokyo that this isn’t a high-expat-traffic area, so don’t expect a polished multilingual setup. If your Japanese is minimal, bring a translation app and ideally a Japanese-speaking friend for your first visit. That said, for people living in the Hachioji area who need solid internal medicine care and don’t want the commute into Shinjuku or Shibuya, this is a legitimate option worth knowing about.
