Hattori Iin

Hattori Iin is a small neighborhood internal medicine clinic tucked into a residential stretch of Koto Ward, east Tokyo. This is old-school Japanese family practice territory — the kind of place locals have been going to for years for colds, chronic conditions, blood pressure checks, and general checkups. The clinic has some English content visible on its website, which is a decent sign, but whether that translates to English-speaking staff at the front desk or during consultations is genuinely unclear. If your Japanese is limited, bring a translation app or a bilingual friend as backup. The Tatsumi or Tatsumi-adjacent area isn’t a typical expat hub, so don’t expect the international-clinic polish you’d find in Minato or Shibuya. What you likely get instead is a competent, no-frills neighborhood doctor who knows his regular patients well. Good for routine internal medicine needs if you’re based in Koto. Less ideal if you need hand-held English support from start to finish.
