Harasikaiin
Harasikaiin (原歯科医院) is a dental clinic on the second floor of the Medical Court Takada Building in Higashi-Nakano, a quiet residential stretch just west of central Tokyo. It’s a standard Japanese dental practice run under the Shineikai medical corporation — think routine cleanings, fillings, extractions, and general oral care rather than cosmetic or specialist work.
The clinic has some English content on its website, which is a decent sign, but whether that translates to an English-speaking dentist or front desk staff on any given visit is genuinely unclear. Don’t assume you’ll have a fluent conversation. Bring a translation app, write down your symptoms beforehand, or bring a Japanese-speaking friend if your dental issue is complicated. For straightforward work, you’ll likely manage.
It’s close to Higashi-Nakano Station, served by the JR Chuo-Sobu Line and Toei Oedo Line — easy access from Shinjuku or further west along the Chuo line.
Patient Feedback
Patient feedback suggests a functional, no-frills dental practice. Appointments tend to run on schedule, which counts for a lot in Tokyo. The dentist is described as methodical and thorough — not a lot of small talk, but the work gets done properly. The setting is clean and clinical without being intimidating. Not a place that holds your hand through anxiety, but competent and efficient for routine dental needs.
English Language Proficiency
For translating forms, prescriptions, or discharge summaries, Jozu is worth having on your phone.
