Ekodaekimae Yamada Seikeigeka is a neighborhood orthopedic clinic sitting right in front of Ekoda Station in Nerima, west Tokyo. It handles the usual orthopedic bread and butter — joint pain, back problems, fractures, sports injuries, post-surgical rehab. The clinic has some English content on its website, which is a decent sign, but don’t bank on smooth English communication at the desk. This is a local Japanese clinic serving a local Japanese neighborhood. Nerima isn’t exactly expat central, so walk-in English support is uncertain at best. Bring a translation app, have your symptoms written out in Japanese if you can manage it, and consider calling ahead via a Japanese-speaking friend or your company’s support line before showing up. That said, orthopedics is one of those specialties where imaging and physical examination do a lot of the talking — so even with a language gap, a competent doctor can often figure out what’s going on.
