CLINIC GREENGRASS
Clinic Greengrass is a dermatology clinic in Hachioji, run under the Eisei Medical Corporation — a decent-sized healthcare group with multiple facilities in the Tokyo area. It’s out in the western suburbs, so this isn’t a central Tokyo option, but if you’re living in that direction, it’s worth knowing about.
The clinic handles standard skin conditions — think acne, eczema, rashes, moles — the everyday dermatology stuff. Their parent organization’s website has some English-language content, which suggests they’ve thought about international patients at least a little. But “some English on the website” doesn’t automatically mean the front desk speaks English, so go in with realistic expectations.
If you’re not confident in Japanese, bring a translation app or a Japanese-speaking friend for anything complex. For simpler visits where you can point at your skin and show a photo on your phone, you’ll probably manage fine. Hachioji is accessible from central Tokyo via the Chuo Line, so it’s not completely off the map.
Patient Feedback
Patient feedback on this specific clinic is limited, which is common for suburban dermatology practices outside central Tokyo. Clinics under the Eisei group generally get reasonable marks for organized, no-nonsense care. Expect a fairly typical Japanese clinic experience: numbered queuing, some wait time, and a focused consultation that doesn’t drag on. Bring your health insurance card and arrive a few minutes early to handle paperwork.
