  • Ayumi Clinic is a gynecology practice on the 7th floor of a building in Kanda Ogawamachi, right in the heart of Chiyoda. It’s a compact, women-focused clinic handling the full range of gynecological care — contraception, STI testing, irregular periods, cervical cancer screening, and more.

English is workable here. Reception has conversational ability and there are some English-language resources available, so you’re not going in completely cold. That said, bring a translation app for anything technical — medical Japanese gets specific fast, and you’ll want to cover your bases during consultations.

The clinic is accessible from several central Tokyo stations, which makes it a reasonable option if you’re working in or around the city center. It’s a small clinic, so don’t expect a hospital-style experience — you’re getting something more personal than that.

Good fit for expat women who need routine gynecological care and want a place where basic communication in English is at least possible.

    Patient Feedback

Patients generally find the clinic approachable and the doctors thorough without being rushed. The small-clinic format means you’re not waiting in a crowded hospital lobby — appointments tend to move at a reasonable pace. The Chiyoda location is convenient for central Tokyo commuters. A few patients noted that detailed medical explanations can get tricky in English, so writing down questions beforehand helps a lot.

    English Language Proficiency

Reception can manage conversational English — enough to handle scheduling, basic questions, and getting you checked in. The doctors have some English ability, but complex consultations can hit a wall with medical terminology. Some English materials are available in the clinic. Don't expect a fully bilingual experience, but you won't be left completely in the dark either. A translation app on your phone is still worth having open.
