AMANUMA Clinic is a neighborhood internal medicine practice tucked into a residential stretch of Adachi Ward — one of Tokyo’s more working-class, less internationalized areas. If you’re living out here rather than in central Tokyo, this is the kind of local clinic that handles the everyday stuff: colds, chronic conditions, blood pressure checks, referrals. The clinic has some English-language presence online, which is a good sign, but Adachi isn’t known for high English proficiency and full English service here is genuinely unclear. Don’t show up expecting a bilingual receptionist. Bring a translation app, have your symptoms written down in Japanese if possible, and keep expectations realistic. That said, neighborhood clinics like this often have doctors who are patient and thorough — they’re built on repeat local patients, not tourist throughput. If you live nearby, it’s worth a visit.
