Azumabashi Orthopedic Clinic sits on floors 2-4 of the Yuzawa Clinic Building in Sumida, just across the river from Asakusa. It’s a dedicated orthopedic practice covering the usual range: back pain, joint issues, sports injuries, fractures, and rehabilitation. The clinic has some English content on its website, which suggests at least some awareness of non-Japanese patients, but don’t assume you’ll walk in and have a smooth English conversation at reception. Bring a translation app as backup. That said, orthopedics is one of those specialties where a lot of the diagnosis happens through imaging and physical examination — the language barrier is more manageable than, say, psychiatry or internal medicine. Sumida isn’t the most expat-dense neighborhood, so this clinic is most relevant if you live or work in the eastern shitamachi area. Asakusa Station is close, making it reachable from multiple lines.
