Abe Naika Shounika (あべ内科小児科) is a neighborhood internal medicine and pediatrics clinic tucked into the residential streets of Umeda, Adachi Ward — one of Tokyo’s more local, less internationalized areas. This is a family-style clinic serving the surrounding community, handling everyday adult illness alongside kids’ health, so it’s practical if you’ve got a family to manage under one roof.

The website has some English content, which is a decent sign, but Adachi isn’t exactly expat-central, so don’t walk in expecting fluent English at reception. Come prepared with a translation app, your symptoms written down in Japanese, or a bilingual friend if your Japanese is zero. That said, clinics like this often have more patience for non-Japanese patients than their websites let on — especially if you’re polite and prepared.

Good for: colds, fevers, general checkups, kids’ sick visits. Not the place for complex specialist needs or long consultations in English.
