  • Geriatric internal medicine focus
  • Near central Tokyo
  • This is the medical office attached to Yokota Home, a special nursing care facility for the elderly in Fussa City, western Tokyo. It’s not a general walk-in clinic — the medical room (医務室) exists primarily to serve residents of the nursing home itself. If you’re an expat looking for regular internal medicine care, this almost certainly isn’t the right fit unless you or a family member are already connected to the facility.

Fussa sits out near Yokota Air Base, so there’s a small but real English-speaking population in the area. The parent organization, Mokuseikai, runs several care facilities in the region. The website has minimal English and the medical office is very much an in-house operation.

If you have a family member in Japanese long-term care and need to communicate with their medical team, this is the contact point. For everyone else, keep looking. Worth a call if you’re in a specific situation, but don’t show up expecting a standard outpatient appointment.

    Patient Feedback

Patient reviews for this facility are essentially nonexistent in the public domain, which makes sense — it’s an in-house medical office, not a public clinic. People interacting with it are mostly family members of nursing home residents navigating care decisions, not patients booking appointments independently. Expect a clinical, institutional environment focused on elderly resident care. Staff are likely experienced with geriatric internal medicine but this is not a setup built around patient-choice or convenience.

    English Language Proficiency

English support here is genuinely unclear and probably limited. The Mokuseikai website has almost no English content. Staff are trained for elderly care in a Japanese institutional context — English fluency isn't a reasonable expectation. If you need to communicate about a family member's care, bring a Japanese-speaking friend or use a medical interpreter service. A translation app will help for basics but won't cut it for serious medical conversations. Call ahead and be realistic.
