Sakura Hihuka Iin
Sakura Hihuka Iin is a dermatology clinic on the third floor of Toki Building in Funabori, Edogawa — not the most central location, but solid neighborhood coverage for expats living on the east side of Tokyo. They handle the usual dermatology range: acne, eczema, skin allergies, rashes, and general skin concerns.
The clinic’s parent organization has some English content online, which is a decent sign, but don’t assume the front desk runs on fluent English. Reality is probably closer to basic phrases plus a lot of goodwill. Bring a translation app, have your symptoms written out in Japanese if you can, and manage expectations accordingly.
For expats in Edogawa who’ve been putting off a skin issue because navigating Japanese clinics feels like too much effort — this is worth trying. It’s a local clinic, not an international medical center, so the experience will feel very Japanese. That’s not a bad thing, just something to go in knowing.
Patient Feedback
Patient feedback points to a fairly standard neighborhood dermatology experience — reasonably short waits by Tokyo clinic standards, a doctor who takes time to explain diagnoses, and a no-frills atmosphere. It’s not a boutique experience, but people seem to leave with actual answers and prescriptions that work. Local patients make up the bulk of visitors, so expect a very Japanese clinical environment from check-in to checkout.
