Saitoh Shika Kouenji Shinryoujo
Saitoh Shika Kouenji Shinryoujo is a small dental clinic sitting on the second floor of the IKB Building in Koenji, one of Suginami’s more lived-in, characterful neighborhoods. It’s a general dentistry practice — cleanings, fillings, the usual — without a flashy brand or chain-clinic energy.
The website has some English text, which is a decent sign, but don’t assume you’ll walk in and have a smooth bilingual conversation. The English online presence suggests some awareness of international patients, but full English-language service isn’t confirmed. Come prepared with a translation app, a Japanese-speaking friend, or at minimum your dental history written out clearly.
Koenji is well-connected — JR Chuo Line makes it easy to get to from most of central Tokyo. The clinic is a short walk from the station. It’s the kind of neighborhood dental office where you’re probably not waiting months for an appointment, and the scale feels personal rather than conveyor-belt.
Good for: expats living in Suginami or west Tokyo who need routine dental care and don’t require full English service.
Patient Feedback
Patient feedback specific to this clinic is limited online in English. Based on what’s available, it reads like a small neighborhood practice — the kind where the dentist actually looks at your mouth rather than rushing you out. Appointment availability seems reasonable for the area. Don’t expect a modern chain-clinic setup with digital intake forms. Expect a functional, no-frills experience that gets the job done. Good for routine work; unclear on specialist referrals.
English Language Proficiency
For translating forms, prescriptions, or discharge summaries, Jozu is worth having on your phone.
