Hiroki Shika
Hiroki Shika is a small dental clinic tucked in Shimo-Ochiai, on the western residential edge of Shinjuku ward — not the buzzy Kabukicho side, so it’s quieter and more neighborhood-feeling than you’d expect from a Shinjuku address. They handle standard dental work: cleanings, cavities, crowns, basic cosmetic stuff.
Their website has some English content, which is a decent signal — it means they’re at least aware that non-Japanese speakers exist. But “some English on the website” doesn’t automatically mean the staff can hold a full conversation in English. Reception is likely Japanese-primary. If your dental Japanese is zero, bring a translation app or write down your symptoms beforehand. Google Translate camera mode on their forms will probably be your friend here.
That said, a neighborhood dentist in a quieter part of Shinjuku is genuinely useful — shorter waits, more personal attention, easier to get appointments than the big English-friendly clinics downtown. If you live in west Shinjuku or Nakano area, this is geographically convenient.
Patient Feedback
Patient feedback points to a calm, unhurried atmosphere — typical of smaller neighborhood clinics where you’re not just a number in a busy queue. Appointments tend to run on time. The dentist is described as thorough and methodical rather than rushed. No reports of overselling unnecessary treatments, which is always a good sign. Not a high-volume tourist-facing clinic, so expect a more personal but very Japanese-language-first experience.
English Language Proficiency
